My flight departed from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai (BOM) at 5:45 am and reached the Hyderabad airport (HYD) at 7:05 am. After a layover of 1 hour and 50 minutes my SpiceJet flight number 1086 departed from the Hyderabad Airport at 8:55 am and reached my destination, i.e. the Madurai Airport (IXM) at 10:40 am.

Thanks to the state of the art in – flight entertainment system and the spacious recliner seats with ample leg room my journey was quite comfortable and I reached Madurai afresh. I took the airport shuttle and reached my abode here quite comfortably. Located quite strategically at the West Veli Street in Madurai the Royal Court Hotel offers decent accommodation at pocket friendly tariffs.

Places to visit

As I had some spare time after my meeting I went out to explore the city. I visited the KoodalAzhagar temple which is considered a sacred site and is a landmark in the heart of the city. Built in traditional style the temple is a perfect place for spirituality and peace. I also visited the Gandhi Museum which is a speciality museum that houses a series of pictures and documents depicting the struggle for freedom. I finished the museum tour in around an hour and came back more informed about the history of India. The Sri Meenakshi Amman temple was in proximity to my hotel. It is a majestic ancient temple with charming and intricate architecture. It is a divine place as I could feel all those positive vibes here.
